I would like to make an automated script that calls ssh-keygen and creates some pub/private keypairs that I will use later on. In principle everything works fine with.... ssh-keygen -b 2048 -t rsa -f /tmp/sshkey -q...except that it asks me for the passphrase that would encrypt the keys. This make -at present- the automation difficult.
Secure user authentication is an integral part of the remote execution scenario, and is achieved by means of a public key and a private key (a pair, for short). You need to generate a pair of keys on your client workstation by means of the ssh-keygen utility (found in the OpenSSH package). Two files will be generated, one extensionless (the private) and the other with a .pub extension (the public). The pair generator asks you to provide a passphrase to better protect your keys. For now, please specify an empty passphrase, when prompted for it.
